Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Sara Fanelli was both the Overall Winner and the First Prize Winner (Book Cover and Jacket Illustration) at the V&A Illustration Awards in 2004. This invitation is a more ephemeral object but it demonstrates Fanelli’s typically idiosyncratic style, complete with the use of collage, bright colours and surreal characters. It is also a good example of contemporary illustration and the way that the visual arts are advertised and marketed. The V&A print collection also holds prints and an artist’s book by Fanelli.
