Physical description
A popular poster depicting the Hindu god Ganesha seated on a golden throne. His forehead has been marked with three white stripes and a trident signifying his connection with Siva.
He has a golden torana with diyas behind him. The elephant-headed god is the 'Remover of all Obstacles'. His trunk is always shown with one broken tusk, the result of his creation. He has four arms. The front right arm is giving a blesssing and the left front arm is carrying a bowl of sweets. The rear two arms are shown with other attributes. In front of him is a mouse which is his companion (vahana) eating offerings. There are bowls of fruit and sweets on either side of his feet as well as a lighted diya, holy books and an ink pot with peacock feather quill.
