Physical description | A popular poster depicting Parvati, seated on a golden throne. She has a golden crown over which is a five hooded cobra. In her hair there is crescent moon. She has three horizontal white stripes on her forehead. She has four arms each holding a different attribute; a drum with a cobra head, a trident (trisula), a small knife, a bowl of kum kum. Parvati is seated underneath a golden arch called a 'prabhavali' with other temple ornaments around her: Hanging diyas on either side, floor diya and incense burners with fruit offerings. By her feet is a silver sculpture of Shiva in his South Indian form. |
