These earrings, made from hollow sheet gold with applied chased, twisted and plain wire, granulation and other decoration, were probably produced in Eastern India. They were included in the 1872 Annual International Exhibition in London, acquired by the Indian Museum in 1877, and transferred to the South Kensington Museum (later renamed the Victoria and Albert Museum) in 1879.

Production
Described in register as 'toe rings, Bengal' - may possibly be from Assam. However, these are ear ornaments.
