Desirable Snaffles
With their distinctive snaffle-bit metal detail, Gucci shoes became a demonstration of status. The instep chain strap was apparently inspired by the founder’s love of English equestrianism, with its links to class and privilege. Gucci’s prestigious snaffle came to represent a sort of laid-back arrogance associated with the wealthy man.
