Youngest bridesmaid's dress John Galliano (b.1960) London, 1987 Hat: Shirley Hex Francesca Oddi also commissioned her bridesmaids' dresses from John Galliano. In a tradition dating back to the 19th century, the three younger girls were dressed alike while the eldest bridesmaid had a more elaborate outfit. The design of the bridesmaids' dresses echoed the cut and decoration of the bride's dress, creating a visual unity.
