Object history
Little is known about Thurston Laidlaw Shoosmith.
The limited palette and thick wove paper are combined to convey the smoggy atmosphere surrounding these factories. This is further emphasised through the broad applications of wash for the walls and roofs of the buildings under a wide grey sky. In the foreground figures are represented through short applications of red, blue and black.
