Physical description

Watercolour entitled 'The Hoers' depicting a group of women moving across the land, left to right, hoeing the land. There are nine women in the group, all wearing bonnets and long dresses, bending towards the soil with their tools. A large grassy hill looms behind them and the atmospheric light suggests dawn or dusk. Signed by the artist.
