The sketches are largely in pencil but some are in pen and ink, depicting a waggon, trees, buildings etc. Three have specific titles and depict The Old Palace, Lincoln; The Roman Gateway at Lincoln; and Lord Monson's mansion near Lincoln. There are 63 leaves in total, but some have, at some point, been cut out.
