This colourful small ring bears the name Ann Chilcott and a small white heart. It forms part of a small group of surviving rings made from twisted and dyed gut and quill - one of which has the name of Ehrenbreitstein, a German fortress and tourist destination, another ring in the Koch Collection, Zurich is decorated with a pair of initials and a heart. They were probably made as inexpensive but attractive souvenirs or gifts, some probably love gifts but others were souvenirs of a trip or perhaps a fair.
