Issues of paper money per month by different Russian Governments.

Poster
ca. 1919 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This White Russian propaganda poster aims to portray the devastating effect of the Bolshevik rule on the Russian economy. The peculiar graphs in the right lower corners of the bank scenes show the increasing inflation occured after the collapse of the Russian Empire and the beginning of the Bolshevik rule while the bank scenes themselves show the difference in conditions under the different governmets. The Imperial bank is shown as an example of order and security, whereas the Provisional government bank shows already the signs of delapidation, and, finally, the Soviet bank is in complete disorder. The use of the anti-Jewish propaganda typical for the White Russian propagandist machine is evident in this poster.
