Vase

ca. 1980 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Geoffrey Eastop began the process of making this pot by throwing a small vase with a wide, flaring rim. He then cut the rim in a spiral, and joined the cut end onto the body of the vase to produce this unusual form.

This vase is part of a group of delicate porcelain objects which Eastop made in the 1970s and early 1980s. These porcelain pieces contrast with the larger, more robust earthenware and stoneware which make up the majority of his work.
