This poster is a typical example of the Soviet propaganda of the mid 1970s. It was published to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Warsaw Pact (1955) that created the military and economic allience of the East European countries. The allience was initiated by the USSR as the Socialist bloc counterpart to the NATO. Typically for the Soviet propaganda machine the Warsaw Pact was shown as the peace initiator and supporter.
