This show card would have been displayed in a shop or department store to advertise the Boston Garter, a men’s sock suspender made by the American manufacturer George Frost Company. The printer has used embossing and metallic ink to recreate the effect of ribbed elastic and nickel-plated fittings.

Embossed colour image of the garter grip with eight embossed examples of available colours. Advertisement includes company name, details of the garter and price. There is a thin silver border around individual colour examples and also surrounding the whole advertisement.
