Based on a vehicle designed for the tv series Space 1999 produced by Gerry Anderson and copyrighted by ATV
Historical context
Dinky Toys had been a trademark of Meccano Ltd, Liverpool. Meccano was bought by Airfix Products Ltd in 1971 when the Lines Brothers group was sold. In 1979, Airfix sold the Liverpool factories producing both Meccano and Dinky due to financial problems. Airfix itself went into receivership late 1981.
