Physical description
Leaf of two different designs laid out in a vertical format on cream-coloured laid paper with a watermark. Each design is one, wide band of decoration in pen and brown ink and painted in watercolours. The design on the left is composed of a network of interlacing lines in pen and ink terminated with red buds. In the centre of this network is a large, four-petalled flower painted in yellow-ochre. The design on the right has the appearance of being stencilled in that there is no suggestion of a border. It consists of green leaves and palmettes seen side on. There is a large flower the petals of which appear white as the paper is left exposed.
