Percy Rhodes wore this cloak as Octavius Caesar in Antony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare (1564-1616). The production was at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon in 1921. Mark Antony was played by Edmund Willard and Cleopatra by Dorothy Green.

The Shakespeare Memorial Theatre was the forerunner of the present Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Opened in 1879, it was destroyed by fire in 1926.
