Valance of red silk velvet (now much worn away), with "applique" fabric (the warp of pinkish or white linen and gilt copper, and silver strips, weft of silk). The pattern is outlined with similar strips twisted round a linen core. It has a pattern, repeated four times, of a symmetrical flowering plant with long curved leaves, and festoons above. The lower edge is scalloped, and there is a band along the top of copper-gilt braid. On the lining is marked: 'P. Joas (?) Baptista No 14P'. There are linen linings.
