Costumes purchased at the Royal National Theatre charity auction in 1996, or donated by the National Theatre prior to the auction: S.742 - S.810-1997, S.822 - S.824:2-1997. This costume was donated to the Theatre Museum prior to the charity auction of costumes from the Royal National Theatre Archive, which took place at Sotheby's Main Galleries, New Bond
Street, on 18 December 1996. Associated production: The Oresteia. Designer: Jocelyn Herbert. Director: Peter Hall. Wearer and actor: John Normington. Character: Cassandra (Oresteia).
