Object history
Sir Peter Saunders was, for many years, one of the most important independent theatrical producers in the West End and was, at various times, the owner of several major theatres, including the Vaudeville, the Duke of York's and the Duchess. Among the plays he produced were The Water Gypsies, Alfie and No Sex Please, We're British, although he will probably be best remembered as the producer of Agatha Christie's plays, including the world's longest running play, The Mousetrap. The Mousetrap prompt book provides details of the basic production, as it is still performed. Associated production: The Mousetrap. Director: Peter Cotes. Producer: Peter Saunders.
