Man's dragon robe (longpao). Semi-formal wear (jifu). Right side fastening with four brand new gilt buttons. Long and tight sleeves, horsehoof cuffs (matixiu), no collar, slits at both back and front side. Light blue silk plain weave lining. Blue silk twill ground embroidered in gold thread in couched work.The decoration features nine five-clawed dragons pursuing sacred pearls amid clouds, ji character in seal and auspicious devices. At the hem are the standing water ( lishui) and rocks appearing among waves. The lower sleeves are made of a black silk satin. The facing of the cuffs is made of a tightly woven blue satin damask with self-patterned roundels at a small scale. Apart from the cuffs, the lower sleeves give a very flimsy feeling.
