Physical description

Studies (on 14 leaves from a sketchbook) of medieval ecclesiastical buildings and furnishings in the Fen district, including St. Mary and St. Nicholas, Trumpington, St Thomas of Canterbury, Ramsey, St. Andrew and St. Mary, Grantchester, St. Botolph, Boston, St. John the Baptist, Stamford, St. Peter and St. Paul, Fenstanton, and St. Mary, Huntingdon.

Object history note

There is no mention is Pugin's surviving diaries of a visit to these places, and so it is suggested that they date from one of the two years when the diaries are missing, 1843 or 1846.
