Table hanging and border of red silk satin, embroidered with coloured silks. The design on the hanging is composed of two birds on conventional rocks from which grow peonies and magnolias. The border has a pattern of three baskets of flowers. Round the piece runs a narrow band of inter-scrolls, swastikas and rosettes.

Acquisition method and source not identified in the Asia Department registers, accessioned in 1901. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Asia Department registers, as part of a 2022 provenance research project.
