Design for embroidery from a volume of designs by Lunardo Fero
Physical description
Leaf of two different designs arranged side-by-side on cream-coloured laid paper with a watermark. The designs are drawn in pen and brown ink and painted in watercolour. The design on the left is formed in a right-angle and consists of leaf-like shapes in red, green and yellow-ochre. The design on the right is a squarish form in the centre of which is a bird singing against a central, yellow-ochre globe both surrounded by green leaves and red flowerlets.

The right-angled form of one of the designs probably indicates that this design was for bed-curtains or curtains.
