Physical description

Photograph depicting Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, Buckingham Palace, 1939. Standing, full-length, upon a richly patterned carpet in a drawing-room scene. Wearing a gown embroidered with sequins, and a diamond tiara. Lit by daylight from a window, she stands in a panel of sunlight. Gilt and upholstered furniture, marble columns, and a crystal chandelier are also seen. On the right hand side of the image, is a large upright photographers' light, mounted on a metal stand.
