Brief description | Design for embroidery from a volume of designs by Lunardo Fero. |
Physical description | Leaf of six different designs laid out in a horizontal format at regular intervals on cream-coloured laid paper with a watermark. Each design is one, narrow line of decoration in pen and brown ink including respectively in order: leaf forms; palmettes; leaves the undersides of which are shaded in yellow-ochre wash; looping forms laid out in a chain with the centres filled in with wash; trefoils alternating with linking arrow heads with the spaces between filled in with wash; a line of scrolling acanthus. |
