Place of origin

The Kangxi period (1662-1722) was a golden age for enamelled porcelain. All sorts of shapes and colours emerged from the skilful hands of potters in Jingdezhen, the porcelain city in Jiangxi province. Blue-and- white wares with a Chinese pattern, such as the mythical animals on this dish, found special favour with European customers, who used them for interior decoration.
