Gallery rotation, 2020 POSTER FOR MATILDA 1990 Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s novel Matilda was first adapted as a touring musical by Rony Robinson in 1990. This iconic image of Matilda is by Quentin Blake, who illustrated the original book. In 2010 the Royal Shakespeare Company produced a new adaptation of Dahl’s novel with music by Tim Minchin, which became a huge critical and commercial success.
