Object history | This poster was issued during the run of the circus to advertise its closure on 24th January. A note by the printer notes that this was 'Design C'. Associated Production: Bertram Mills' Circus. Performers: Tonowanda Indians (Red Indian horse act). Olympia, Kensington, London. 22.12.1930-27.1.1931. Performance category: circus. NB the use of the term 'Indian' to describe performers of Indigenous American descent is an outdated and, to some, offensive, term, and is repeated here in its original historical context |
