Sampler of écru linen hand worked in cross stitch and tent stitch, mainly in pale blue and fawn-coloured threads. The sampler shows upper and lower case alphabets, lines of abstract patterns (including zig zag and greek key), spot motifs including hearts, initials, pairs of long-tailed birds and a verse, and contains the maker's name and age and the date.
