Object history
The composer of The Patience Quadrille, Eugene D'Albert, was also trusted as a musician by Sullivan since he was given the task of scoring the overture of the opera Patience. At the time Eugene D'Albert was a 17 year old student at the National Training School and winner of that year's Mendelssohn Scholarship.
