I. The "Chandos Portrait," now in the National Portrait Gallery. Engraved by S. Cousins. 1849. D.3164 Attributed variously to Richard Burbage and John Taylor. Originally owned by Taylor, it passed through the hands of a succession of private owners in the 18th and early part of the 19th centuries (including the Duke of Chandos), and was purchased in 1848 by the Earl of Ellesmere, who presented it subsequently to the nation.

From the 'Chandos Portrait' which has been attributed variously to Richard Burbage and John Taylor. Originally owned by Taylor, it passed through the hands of a succession of private owners in the 18th and early part of the 19th centuries (including the Duke of Chandos), and was purchased in 1848 by the Earl of Ellesmere. It is currently in the National Portrait Gallery.
