Part of a series of caricatures, illustrative of James Boswell’s 'The Journal of a Tour to the Hebrides with Samuel Johnson, LL.D.' (first published in 1785), entitled 'Picturesque Beauties of Boswell'.
This set is incomplete, wanting Plate II. of the first part, 'The Journalist with a view of Auchinleck, or Land of Stones', and Plate I. of the second part, 'Revising for the second edition, under the inspection of a learned friend', and also the list of plates for each part.
