Warp: white cotton; Z4S; 24-26 threads per inch (100 per dm).

Weft: white cotton; Z-spun, unplied; 2 parallel threads per shoot and 3 shoots after each row of knots; 11 knots per inch (44 per dm).

Pile: wool: 11 colours, red, orange, dark yellow, yellow, dark green, light green, dark blue, blue, pink, dark brown, white; asymmetrical knot open to the left and tied around 2 threads; 132-143 knots per sq. inch (2200 per sq. dm).

Side finish: missing

End finish: cut

Design: Field: red ground. On a central vertical axis there are 2 palmettes and 2 pairs of small blossom;s: the palmettes are not identical in colour. Along the sides are similar half rows with green palmettes. There is a band of blossoms across the central horizontal axis; along the top and bottom are half bands of palmettes and blossoms. The pattern is more squashed in the upper half. The palmettes and blossoms lie on a series of dark blue swirling stems which overlie a series of pink stems with flowers, buds and leaves.

Main border: dark blue ground with a fine green stem on which lie leaves and small blossoms and two large palmettes (in alternate directions). The palmettes are blue outlined in dark red and orange or red, green and dark yellow.

Inner border: reciprocal blue/dark yellow trefoils outlined in dark brown and with a yellow dot in each trefoil.

Outer borders: (1) yellow and green and pink alternating blocks
(2) red ground with green and pink 'S' shapes
