Brief description | Bound sheet music for Songs from Il Trovatore, No.10 Ah! I have sigh'd to rest me published by Charles Jeffreys, Harry Beard Collection. |
Physical description | Bound sheet music for Songs from Il Trovatore, No. 10 Ah! I have sigh'd to rest me. The front of the sheet music is illustrated with a group of six black and white illustrations. These appear to show scenes from the songs bound in the sheet music. There is a recurring image of a man in medieval inspired dressed, consisting of a loose tunic which finishes at the upper thigh and has flared sleeves which finish at the elbow. He is shown duelling, pleading and hand in hand with a woman who is dressed in gown with a dark bodice which terminates in a crenellated edge, over a full, layered, skirt. The back sheet is printed with a Thematique list of popular songs by Dolores published by Charles Jefferys. |
