This full length tinsel print shows the actor E.F. Saville in the title role of Jack Shephard by Greenwood.

This play was one several inspired by a real life figure of the same name who was a notorious robber , burglar and thief of early eighteenth century London. He was arrested and imprisoned five times, but escaped four times, before he was finally hanged in 1724.

Tinsel print of E.F. Saville in the title role of Jack Shephard circa 1832.
Physical description
A full length tinsel print in which the actor is dressed in a thigh length crimson coat trimmed with metallic gold braid and with epaulets at the shoulder. This is worn over tight cream breeches and with knee high black boats and a tricorne hat. The boots are highly polished and the hat is trimmed with metal foil to give the impression of gold braid.

He is leaning backwards, with his left hand pointing at an object in the distance. In his right hand he grasps a gold pistol which is currently pointing towards the ground. Behind him is a country scene with a thatched cottage in front of which are visible two male figures.
