Place of origin

Deep bowl of buff stoneware, with a finely crazed colourless glaze over a white slip. The outside is roughly carved with flutes to represent the petals of a flower-form. Slightly inverted rim, gently curved upright sides drawn in somewhat abruptly at the base to a hollowed foot-ring. The white slip stops short of the foot on the outside and terminates inside at a point about half inch below the lip; the glaze also stops short on the outside, but covers the inside of the bowl. Three spur-marks inside.
