This lithograph from circa 1838 shows the ballerina Fanny Elssler dancing the Cachucha in the ballet Le Diable Boiteux.
Elssler orginally trained in Vienna but was appearing in London from 1833 onwards. She was the first ballerina to tour America where she met with great success. The Spanish Cachucha was one of her most famous dances.
