This simple line caricature of Irina Baronova is painted in black, pink and crimson. It shows her in the role of Passion in the ballet Les Presages and makes deliberate reference to the role giving her a heart shaped face with exaggerated eyelashes and a pouting crimson, heart shaped mouth. A semi-circle of hearts which borders the top of the head, hinting either at a coronet or an elaborate hairstyle. It was drawn by the costume and set designer Guy Sheppard and is dated 1938.
