Head and shoulders sketch of Lady Diana Cooper as the Madonna in The Miracle at the Lyceum Theatre in 1932. It is one of a series of sketches of performers in the production made by Violet, Countess of Rutland, who was Lady Diana's mother.

The Miracle was originally produced by C.B. Cochran at Olympia in 1911 and revived at the Lyceum Theatre in 1932. The revival was extremely successful and toured for two years in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Physical description
A head and shoulders profile sketch of Lady Diana Cooper in a blend of pencil and crayon. The top of a sweeping pale blue cloak is visible around her shoulders. Her head and neck are covered with bands of white fabric, probably a 'wimple', on top of which she wears an intricate crown with entwined metalwork shapes and jewels set in to the base.
