Plate 9, Mr. Vestris in Zaïs. It shows a figure dressed in a wide skirted purple gown with a very low neckline which exposes the left hand side of the dancer's chest. The whole gown is decorated with swathes of blue and green in a band across the dancer's chest and encircling the hem. The sleeves of the gown finish at the elbow and are also decorated with blue and green. The dancer wears a headdress consisting of blue and green plumed feathers. Harry Beard Collection.
