Gallery label
The subject of many of Gowin's photographs is his wife, Edith, and other family members. Over the years, his intimate portrayals of those close to him have allowed the viewer to glimpse the photographer's personal and prized moments. In this image, Edith is posed outdoors with moths circling around her head, their flight patterns captured in a long exposure.(April 2009-April 2010)
