Physical description

Enamelled gold locket, the reverse set with diamonds and a rock crystal cover with the arms of Carl Caspar Van Leyen, Elector and Archbishop of Trier (1652-76). Inside, a relief, added later, of Pope Gregory XIII, after a medal by Gian Federigo Bonzagna (1508-86)
