Panel from a temple car (Ratha), of teak carved in high relief. Formerly part of a Temple-car of a Subrahmanya Temple in the S.Kana District of the Madras Presidency. It is rectanagular in shape showing the god Indra riding on the elephant Airavati with his mahout. He is seated sideways holding in his right hand an eight-sided club-like pointed thunderbolt. The left arm is broken away.
