Place of origin

Girl's sleeveless pinafore of unlined pale pink muslin with a scoop neck. The fabric is arranged in unpressed pleats at the back and front of the shoulders: at the front the fullness is caught into unpressed pleats again at each side of the waist, beneath two circles of self fabric worked with an embroidered design of stylized roses worked mainly in pinks, blues and yellows using cross stitch. The garment is edged throughout in split chain stitch worked in coral pink silk, and fastens the length of the back with metal press studs and a pair of self fabric ties attached beneath the embroidery at the waist front.
