This sampler is the work of an experienced embroiderer who used it to record stitches, motifs and patterns for future reference. Some of the original colours have faded.

Physical description

Sampler, linen embroidered with silk in variations and combinations of double running stitch and eyelets.
The predominant colours are blue and dark pink. The predominant motifs are a row of blue vases with pink flowers along one of the ends and a sailing ship in the centre of one side.
