Study for a composition of a female enthroned, with an attendant kneeling on each side and several others behind; one probably Cupid. Before the principal figure is a group of females in loose flowing robes, one of whom is reading from a book; On the reverse, a design for the policies of a Fire Insurance Company; two subjects under arches and representing conflagrations. In the centre is a female figure wearing a helmet, armed with a spear, and resting her hand on a shield, which is emblazoned with a phoenix; Drawn with a pen, and washed with Indian ink.
