This presentation drawing for the interior of an entrance hall for the fashion business London Pride was made for the client and owner Maurice Finestone. It is possibly by Oswin Bateman-Brown who worked for the decorating firm of Lenygon & Morant which designed interiors in the 1950s and 1960s. The antique dealers, H. Blairman & Sons and the decorating firm of Lenygon & Morant collaborated on interior design during this period. Together, they integrated new décor and antiques for clients as in this interior design. It includes antique furniture, such as the wall-mounted clock and the chair which would have been supplied by H. Blairman & Sons.

Object history | This interior design is for the entrance hall to the fashion business London Pride. The business was owned by Maurice Finestone. Maurice's daughter, Sandra Sorrel, was formerly married to Martin Sorrel who runs the advertising firm WPP. |
Production | Oswin Bateman-Brown of the decorating firm of Lenygon & Morant designed interiors in the 1950s and 1960s. The antique dealers, H. Blairman & Sons and the decorating firm of Lenygon & Morant collaborated on interior design during the 1950s and 1960s, integrating new décor and antiques for clients. There is, however, a monogram in the bottom right corner including the initial 'A' which does not occur on any of the other designs attributed to Bateman-Brown nor does it appear to correspond to his name. Nevertheless, the style of painting is the same as that in designs attributed to him. |
