George Lucas's six Star War films were released between 1977 and 2005. The first one, Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) became the most successful film in history and grossed over $290 million. It was not only the film that became a success but also the mechandising that was produced along side the film. The films captured the public's imagination and paved the way for the merchandising that accompanies many films today. A whole host of toy figures, spacecrafts and vehicles were available, as well as costumes, stationery, bedroom accessories and slippers.

This Luke Skywalker figure was produced by Hasbro in 2005. They brought the company Kenner in 1991 and the rights to continue to produce Star Wars toys. This particular toy is part of their Force Battlers range.

Luke Skywalker figure in blister pack, from the Star Wars Force battle range, made in China by Hasbro in 2005.
Physical description
The figure is suspended within the packaging. The plastic blister pack has a notch taken out of the top to allow it to hang on a peg at a retailers. The name Luke Skywalker appears at the top of the pack, the figure is on the left and the accessories on the right. On the right hand side is the text "Lightsaber attack". At the bottom is the text Force Battlers, and the Star Wars logo appears beneath it. The background is red and there are blue borders.
