Hand coloured etching depicting Joseph Grimaldi's leapfrog in the pantomime of The Golden Fish, 1812.
The image shows two male figures dressed as clowns, alongside two frogs. One frog is seated on the far left of the image, and the clown, shown in profile, and standing at the centre is holding out a bowl towards it. A second frog is positioned to the right of this clown and is shown leaping through the air. It is jumping over the back of other clown, who is positioned on the far right and is shown crouching down towards the ground.
